YOUNG AT 90 - THE EXTRAORDINARY LIFE OF KEITH NORMAN
A Memoir with a Difference
A Memoir with a Difference
[Cocoa, FL - 30 June 2017] Despite the series subtitle – ‘The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man’ – there is nothing ordinary about Keith J. Norman. Born into a professional middle-class family in the UK in 1927, he came of age quickly during the turbulent years of WWII. His natural bold optimism and unrelenting energy saw him through service in the British Army, years of education at King’s College London, Cornell & Harvard (USA), 13 years at UK’s Atomic Energy Authority and seven decades of fascinating adventures, both business and personal. From rice farming, turtle farming and gold mining to fund management, bank liquidation and real estate development, through wine clubs, retail and pipeline construction to name but a few – there is little Keith has not experienced in his life spanning five continents, dozens of cultures, 4 marriages, 7 children, 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. From university students of modern history or business studies to professionals in many walks of life – everyone will benefit from this first-hand account of how to start a business, raise funds, dig for gold or deal with failure.
With wit, integrity, humility and intelligence, this remarkable memoir unfolds through a collection of letters to Keith’s grandchildren and other members of his extensive family and to friends. Keith Norman’s intelligent self-examination begins with an attempt to resolve the question first posed by St Francis Xavier Cabrini who asserted that anyone’s potential can be formed in their first seven years of life. No stone of Keith’s life is left unturned in his candid search for answers which is far from over.
